Should You Hire a Software ‘Tester’ or ‘Test Engineer?’
Software QA Testing Shouldn't Keep You Up At Night
A lot of people have come to us with the following problem: They have a software QA team in place, but releases are still getting out the door with bugs. What does this mean? Well, sleepless nights fixing things that should have been caught long before their customers pointed them out.
They're frustrated because:
- Their testers are telling them what is broken, but not why.
- Their developers are spending time figuring out why something is not working, and not enough time fixing the actual defect.
- They have been up for days dealing with bugs that somehow got through QA and are not embarrassed that their customers are pointing out defects.
Does this sound familar? I’ve written a short report that tells the difference between software test engineers and testers and why you should avoid one and you need the other.
Thanks, and I hope that you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
